·} SUSTAINABILITY

The CONECTA Magaluf-Mallorca event was created with the aim of going beyond a mere cultural and professional gathering, by making sustainability a central pillar of its identity. In an environment as precious and sensitive as Mallorca, we understand our responsibility to protect its natural wealth, respect its culture and contribute positively to the local community. For this reason, we are promoting a conscious event model, where every decision seeks to minimise environmental impact and maximise social and economic benefits for the island.

In line with this philosophy, we present the following sustainability commitment:

  1. Care for the natural environment
All event activities will take place without leaving litter on beaches, streets, rural areas or protected spaces. Technical teams, participants and attendees will be instructed to collect and dispose of any waste generated correctly. If litter from other sources is found in the areas used, participants will be encouraged to remove it and dispose of it properly in the appropriate bins.
  2. Protection of biodiversity and the landscape
Signposted trails, designated areas and protected zones will be respected. Damaging native flora, interfering with local fauna or disrupting sensitive ecosystems will not be permitted. Natural sites will be used in a controlled and responsible manner.
  3. Mobility and energy efficiency
The use of public transport, bicycles, electric vehicles or car-sharing will be encouraged for journeys related to the event. Water and energy will be used responsibly in accommodation, technical areas and screening areas, with priority given to facilities featuring energy-efficiency measures.
  4. Responsible water and packaging management
Drinking water refill points will be installed to reduce single-use packaging. Where bottled water needs to be provided, aluminium cans will be prioritised due to their high recycling rate and ability to circulate indefinitely within the recycling system. Plastic and cartons will be discouraged.
  5. Support for the local economy and culture
Priority will be given to local suppliers, locally sourced products, Mallorcan crafts and services. Responsible consumption will be encouraged, directly benefiting the island’s economy and reducing the carbon footprint associated with transport.
  6. Respect for the marine environment
In activities related to the sea, we will act with absolute respect for marine biodiversity. Touching or damaging corals, wildlife or Posidonia seagrass beds will not be permitted. Anchoring, if necessary, will only take place in authorised areas.
  7. Responsible waste management
The 3R rule will apply: reduce, reuse and recycle. Bins will be provided in accordance with local regulations: organic waste (brown), packaging (yellow), paper and cardboard (blue) and glass (green). The use of disposable materials will be minimised, and reusable or returnable solutions will be encouraged.
  8. Respectful coexistence with local communities
The event will be held whilst respecting rest periods, community guidelines, local neighbourhoods and local culture. A responsible attitude will be promoted amongst participants, bearing in mind that this area is home to residents, not merely a tourist destination.
  9. Transparency and continuous improvement
The measures implemented will be monitored and results reviewed. Local responsible tourism initiatives will be supported and suggestions for improving sustainable practices in future editions will be shared.

With this commitment, the intention is that the event’s only footprint will be cultural experiences and a positive impact on Mallorca, ensuring its preservation for residents, visitors and future generations.
