The PITCH FEELGOOD FORMATS Editorial Committee of Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT was made up of international European and American professional experts. They were in charge of reviewing and evaluating the international Feelgood Formats projects received during our call for projects. From all submitted projects, 5 of them were selected and presented at the pitching session during the event on June 21-24, in Palacio de Congresos El Greco, Toledo (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain).

CLAUDIA FERNÁNDEZ

Head of Unscripted Development Mexico for HBO Max

HBO Max (Mexico)

Content executive with 15 years of experience in the audiovisual media. She currently serves as Head of Unscripted Development Mexico for HBO Max, where she has collaborated in content such as Bake off Mexico, Juan Pa + Chef, 40 is nothing, among others.
Previously he was content and programming manager for Turner’s entertainment channels in Mexico and Colombia and developed the shows, Parrilleros and Tworist. He managed live events such as Awards Season for TNT or boxing and wrestling events for Space.
She has worked in different international festivals, including the Guadalajara International Film Festival, where she was part of the Industry team, developing meetings and training programs for producers, literary adaptation meetings and inclusion spaces for people with disabilities.

MYRIAM LÓPEZ-OTAZU

Group VP Content & Acquisitions EMEA & APAC at Warner Bros Discovery

Myriam Lopez-Otazu, Group Vice President of Content and Acquisitions for EMEA and APAC at Warner Bros Discovery, joined Discovery in 2013. Based in Madrid, Myriam manages editorial strategy, sourcing and acquisitions, as well as central planning and multi-market rollout across linear and discovery+ channels.
During her time at the company, Myriam has overseen the acquisition of key formats such as Naked Attraction, Bake Off or First Dates, as well as securing strategic deals with Studios and Indies on high-performing titles in different genres, from premium features and docs to reality.
In the last year, she has worked closely with the local and global teams to launch and roll out Discovery+ in Europe, defining and overseeing the planning and merchandising strategy for International, as well as executing complementary European assignments such as Children of the Cult, Man Without a Heart and True Love.
Prior to joining Discovery, Myriam was VP Content Sales at Zodiak Rights for 5 years, where she oversaw all sales activities, including formats, for Southern Europe and Latin America. She has also worked at RDF Rights and Steadfast TV, managing content sales and ad-funded content projects, as well as in the commercial department of the public broadcaster in Madrid.

With a background in Management and with degrees in both France and the US, Maria started her career in TV in 1997, after several years in strategy consulting. As Head of Acquisitions and International for Spain and Portugal, she has worked with all major distributors to bring new format adaptations to Spanish audiences. Driving major international achievements, highlights include global rollouts of Your Face Sounds Familiar and most recently The Bridge. Since 2018, she has stepped up to handling Business Affairs for all brands across Iberia, negotiating deals with all major streamers and international partners/co-producers.

After spending 7 years working in the advertising industry, creating and managing campaigns for many major brands, I decided that I wanted to have more than 30 seconds to tell stories and engage the audience. So in 2009 we launched Phileas Productions – a company with a clear objective: to have fun and create original, innovative formats capable of attracting, entertaining and surprising audiences, both in the international market and in Spain.
